Deandra Has Some Thoughts About All the Pointless Drama on Peter’s Season of ‘The Bachelor’

They say history repeats itself, but I honestly did not think that it could happen this quickly. Remember just a few months ago, when Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette was riddled with pointless drama? The mess surrounding Luke Parker totally ruined the entire thing, leaving every other contestant wishing he’d had more time with Hannah. Peter’s season of The Bachelor is nearly the same exact mess, and obviously, the contestants are NOT pleased.
One of last night’s eliminated contestants, Deandra (who was totally one of my faves and NEEDS to be on Bachelor in Paradise) appeared on Rachel Lindsay and Becca Kufrin’s Bachelor Happy Hour podcast to discuss her time on the show. Becca asked what was running through her mind when she realized she’d be going home, and Deandra had the best answer ever.
“Oh, I was furious. I mean, it was more like confusion. Like, hey, you are on this journey to find the woman who is for you. Why are we spending so much of this time on the same six girls trying to figure out about one girl’s drama, or like two girls’ drama?” Deandra said. “You have so many beautiful, smart, ambitious women here. Let’s say screw the drama for a second. Let me get to know these other girls.”
She even went on to joke that that maybe she wasn’t dramatic enough to catch Peter’s attention.
“It was almost like he was rewarding the drama. Like I should’ve jumped in on that drama. I should’ve been like, ‘You know what? I know one of these girls from before.’ Just made something up so that he’d maybe pay attention to me. I don’t know!”
Anyway, it seems like Deandra has the best attitude toward being eliminated. She shared an Instagram after the episode with a caption about choosing people who choose you back, and TBH, she’s right. You have to applaud a girl who values her own time!
