JUSTIN O'REILLY: Why are people all over the internet so obsessed with crab rangoon? What's going on? Crab rangoons are an Americanized Chinese dish made with imitation crab meat, cream cheese, and seasoning, all wrapped in a fried wonton. But why are they being memed right now? Zach Sweat, Managing Editor at Know Your Meme, offers up a few theories. One, they're familiar. Crab rangoon recipes are pretty consistent throughout the country.

Two, they have a goofy-sounding name. (OVERENUNCIATING) Crab rangoon. Same could be said for other memed foods, like garlic bread or, famously, bacon in the mid-2000s. For millennials, epic bacon was, as Vox put it, "the height of comedy." Whatever the reason, all this talk of crab rangoon is making me hungry. I'm going to go eat some.
