Deadpool 3 might just save the Marvel universe.

For X-Men: First Class director Matthew Vaughn, there’s no ‘might’ about it: Marvel’s next big superhero extravaganza will deliver.

"The few snippets that I know about Deadpool vs. Wolverine — or Wolverine vs. Deadpool, I'm sure that argument between Ryan and Hugh is happening as we speak — are unbelievable," Vaughn tells the Post-Credit podcast.

While Vaughn admits he hasn’t been granted any insider privilege, the little he’s seen has got him excited.

"That's going to be the jolt…the Marvel universe is about to have a jolt and it's going to bring that body back to life… I think Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are about to save the whole Marvel universe."

Now, Vaughn’s words should be taken with a pinch of salt. The Kick-Ass and Kingsman director might just be angling for a job directing Marvel’s next movie, after proving his talents with 2011’s brilliant X-Men: First Class.

Either that or Deadpool 3 is genuinely worth the hype.

So when does Deadpool 3 release? Ryan Reynolds shares that Deadpool 3 has officially wrapped.

Releasing 26 July 2024, it sees Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool and Hugh Jackman's Wolverine meet for the first time, and apparently, there are superhero cameos galore.
