New DC Comics: Superboy Returns and Jungle League Goes Bananas

With March coming to a close, DC is increasing its output of comics and graphics novels. This week’s DC comics include continuing entries in several series, including Wonder Woman, Alan Scott, Catwoman, and the Justice League. It’s not just the heavy hitters though, as heroes like John Constantine and the rest of the JSA also get new releases in their respective lineups.

The big graphic novel of the month will make Superboy fans happy, as Conner Kent is back from the events of Dark Crisis. Superboy: The Man of Tomorrow collects issues 1-6 of Kenny Porter’s comic series into an emotional tale as Conner embarks on a journey of self-discovery. Along the way, he will team up with the Cosmoteers to thwart Dominator X.

Elsewhere, Monsieur Mallah assembles the Legion of Doom, only this time it’s all apes. To fight them, the Jungle League, made up of heroic anthropoids, are the only hope. The APE-RIL one-shot special promises to go all bananas. Written by John Layman, Gene Luen Yang, and Joshua Hale Fialkov, APE-RIL is all about preventing world domin-ape-tion.

This month’s standard comics also include another crazy Harley Quinn story - one where she tries solving her own murder. Harley Quinn: Vol. 5: Who Killed Harley Quinn? Is another multiversal adventure following the queen of crime on an otherworldly adventure, collecting Harley Quinn #22-27.
