David Wright Mentioned a Girlfriend for the First Time on Last Night's 'Survivor'
On an episode full of idol hunting, mind games and a blindside, one of the most surprising reveals of last night's episode of Survivor: Edge of Extinction was when David Wright revealed that he has a girlfriend.
David has talked about being single while the rest of his friends are "married with kids," so it was a little bit surprising to hear him talk about wanting to propose to his girlfriend. Through some very hard investigative work (aka stalking his Instagram page), we were able to find out some things about David's girlfriend.
Who is David Wright's girlfriend?
There is very little information about David's lady love, and we still don't know her name. However, David has posted her on his Instagram a couple of times, including a cute Christmas photo and a photo of the couple at a party.

I'm getting my girlfriend a calendar for Christmas.

You may have also noticed a number of pictures on David's profile that feature a cute Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, and it turns out that his girlfriend is actually the dog's owner. The dog's Instagram account is run by David's girlfriend and her twin sister.

What has David said about his girlfriend?
When asked by Entertainment Weekly about how he's been preparing for Survivor, David said, "My girlfriend has been incredibly helpful in preparing me for this second time around. I’m really just parroting her advice, but really get rid of the biggest threat at six. Hopefully you have an idol. You play it at five. I can win at fire. That gets me to three."
David also talked to The Hollywood Reporter about how he created a fake idol on Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X, and he said that his girlfriend helped him create a plan to make a fake advantage.

"Okay, deal, no more naked strategizing." #Survivor

"We call it the 'Sole Vote' advantage," David said, saying that the fake advantage would read, "Congratulations. You have found the Sole Vote Advantage. This allows you to cancel voting at Tribal Council and send home any person of your choosing. If you intend to use this advantage, you must reveal it at Tribal Council and announce who you are sending home before any votes are cast."
"I'm hoping it will create a rift between two people," he explained. "They can have their war, and I'll just be on the sidelines, like Littlefinger from Game of Thrones. I want to make some things happen that leave me safer than maybe I would be otherwise."
So we know that David's girlfriend loves dogs and is a Survivor mastermind. We like her already.
