Jurassic Park fans will be thrilled to hear that Universal is said to be developing a new Jurassic World movie with David Koepp, who wrote Spielberg's Jurassic Park and The Lost World: Jurassic Park.

The last Jurassic flick to hit the big screen was Jurassic World Dominion in 2022, which took place four years after the destruction of Isla Nublar where Biosyn operatives attempt to track down Maisie Lockwood as Dr Ellie Sattler investigates a genetically engineered swarm of giant insects.

It starred Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Neill, DeWanda Wise, Mamoudou Athie, Isabella Sermon, Jeff Goldblum and Laura Dern and was directed by Colin Trevorrow.

Further details about the next steps on Koepp's latest script are to be announced. There is currently no director attached. However, the script appears to be in good enough shape that the studio is eyeing a possible 2025 release.

It has also been revealed that Frank Marshall is back as producer, with Spielberg executive producing under Amblin Entertainment and Patrick Crowley also producing.

The Hollywood Reporter first broke the news.
