David Henrie Was Reportedly Arrested for Having a Loaded Gun at LAX

David Henrie has released a statement on Twitter after his reported arrest for carrying a firearm at LAX on Monday.
“I take responsibility for the situation at LAX today," he tweeted. "I unintentionally brought my legally owned gun which is registered in my name to the airport. I am so sorry for any trouble it caused, but I am appreciative of TSA’s efforts in implementing the safety laws that are in place to protect our beautiful country."
According to People, the tweet was posted shortly after he was released on a $10,000 bail. "More than anything I am humiliated and embarrassed that this even happened," David wrote. "But I am thankful to the TSA, LAPD and all involved today for their kindness and their professionalism during this process."
David also retweeted a response to his statement from the LAX Police Department Union. Airport police responded, "It’s unfortunate you had to meet our officers under these circumstances but we appreciate your professionalism and thanking the police officers for doing their jobs not something we hear a lot of lately. Safe travels & God Bless."
Per People, David is set to appear in court on Oct. 1.

According to a TMZ report published on Monday, airport security agents discovered the former Wizards of Waverly Place actor was carrying the weapon (what TMZ identified as a loaded pistol) through a TSA screening at LAX.
The outlet reported that David was "immediately detained" and "taken to a nearby station," and is currently still in custody. David and his team have yet to release a statement regarding his reported arrest.
As TMZ noted, the actor had previously joked about getting a firearm in an unrelated recent Instagram post from last Wednesday (September 5) that accompanied news of his wife Marie Cahill's pregnancy. "ITS A GIRL ITS A GIRL ITS A GIRL. Im a Poppa!!!!!!! Im so overwhelmed with joy I had to share this with you guys. I’m already singing 'I Loved Her First,'" David wrote in the comments, before adding, "That reminds me. Where’s my shotgun? I don’t have a shotgun. Someone get me a shotgun! I can’t wait to sit her down on a couch and tell her a 9 season story of How I Met Your Mother 😂😂😂 #baby #itsagirl #shotgun #poppa #dad." The shotgun lines were later removed from the caption.
David is most well-known for his Disney Channel role as Justin Russo, the older brother of Selena Gomez's character Alex Russo, on the show Wizards of Waverly Place and for his work on How I met Your Mother.
