Attention, cozy gamers! Developer and publisher Mintrocket’s stellar indie video game Dave the Diver, released in June 2023, will finally make its way to PS5 this April — and some brand-new DLC featuring the King of the Monsters arrives not long after. Yes, Titanus Gojira — aka Godzilla himself — will emerge from the depths of the Blue Hole to seemingly terrorize Dave, Cobra, Bancho and Bancho Sushi’s customers this May in a free-to-play update. (Or, you know, maybe the prehistoric monster is just craving some of Dave’s Cooksta-famous sushi. Fingers crossed.)

The upcoming Godzilla DLC will be released just five months after the game’s first free content pack, a crossover with fellow 2023 sea-based indie game Dredge.

Between Dave the Diver’s addictive gameplay loop, fun minigames, beautiful pixel graphics, compelling characters and consistent, free DLC updates, I believe it more than warrants its $20 price tag. It was not only one of my favorite cozy games of last year but also one of my favorite video games of the year, full stop. Don’t just take my word for it, though; as of this writing, it has also garnered more than 84,000 reviews and an Overwhelmingly Positive rating on Steam.
