What is Make Me a Match about?

Vivi (Bourne), an optimistic woman with a substandard romantic history, works at a data-driven matchmaking app. Once she discovers that the success rate for matches at her company is low, she hires Raina (Rekha Sharma), an Indian matchmaker, to help improve their numbers. However, Raina suggests an unusual arrangement to teach Vivi her tactics: she will use her expertise to help Vivi find love, and Vivi can use what she learns through this process to help her company. As they embark on this matchmaking journey, Vivi meets Raina’s spontaneous son, Bhumesh (Kota), and questions whether finding love is something one must take control of or allow to happen on its own.

Eva Bourne (Vivi)

Fans of When Calls the Heart are familiar with Eva Bourne where she played Clara Stanton for five seasons. She was also a series regular on Garage Sales Mysteries opposite her When Calls the Heart co-star Lori Loughlin. Bourne has also appeared on Once Upon a Time and Emily Owens, M.D.

Rushi Kota (Bhumesh)

Kota studied engineering before eventually pursuing a masters degree in acting. He has appeared on Netflix's Never Have I Ever and starred as Dr. Vik Roy on Grey's Anatomy.

In an exclusive to Parade.com, Kota talks about one his favorite scenes from the movie. "I think one of my favorite scenes to shoot besides literally all of them is the scene between Boom and his mother Raina, when they are talking about the loss of his father. Rekha was such generous acting partner and we got to bounce such real emotion of each other."

And what about working with Eva Bourne? "Working with Eva was such a blast because we had so many laughs together. I’m definitely the funnier half of our duo, and since she actually laughs at all my jokes, it makes me think I m the funniest person in the room… but that could just be her brilliant acting as not to bruise my ego," says Kota.

Rekha Sharma (Raina)

Sharma has appeared as a guest star or series regular on several popular series including Star Trek: Discovery, Transplant, Yellowjackets and Roswell, New Mexico. She has also appeared on Another Life and United States of Al.
