Many Americans consider Memorial Day Weekend to be the unofficial start to summer. Try telling professional skier Daron Rahlves that.

Watch and listen as the 3x Olympian and 12x World Cup winner sends an incredibly fun run down the slopes of Palisades Tahoe, CA:

Just in case you were wondering folks, the answer is yes. Yes, that was filmed this Memorial Day Weekend! It shows Rahlves skiing Rock Garden off the KT-22 lift on the Olympic Valley side (formerly known as Sq*w Valley).

Palisades Tahoe received more snowfall this season (723 inches) than any on record.

The Olympic Valley side of the resort is now officially closed for the season, but fear not, skiing and snowboarding is expected to continue throughout the first half of the summer.

Palisades plans to operate the Alpine Meadows side on weekends through July 4th, conditions permitting.

It's sad that we won't see anymore clips of Rahlves (or anybody else for that matter) ripping down the classic lines of Olympic Valley until next season, but at least there's still more skiing to be had.

Go get those rare summer skiing laps in while you can. You never know how long it will be until the next time it's possible.

See you out there?

P.S.- Does anybody else think that spring/summer corn snow can be more fun to ski than powder? Just putting that out there... Let me know.
