*Major spoilers for season 1 of WandaVision below!*

WandaVision might have come to an end, but that doesn't mean that it's all over for Wanda now that she has taken the mantle as the Scarlet Witch. And now that she has the Darkhold in her hands, things are definitely going to get more interesting. But for some Marvel fans, this might be the first time they've heard of the magical book. So what exactly is the Darkhold? And what will Wanda do with it?

Here's everything you need to know about the Darkhold from WandaVision.

What is the Darkhold?

The Darkhold is a special book created in the Dark Dimension using dark matter. For MCU fans, the Dark Dimension is where Doctor Strange had his big fight against Dormammu.

The book holds a number of spells and also legends. Agatha first uses the book to explain the Scarlet Witch as well as to find spells to use in Westview. In the season finale of WandaVision, Wanda is seen reading from the book, likely to figure out a way for her to bring back Billy, Tommy, and Vision for good.

Because of the books origins, it magic that the user would use would be dark magic. Of course, this could affect the user in a number of ways and can also bring about new villains into the mix.

Where else has the Darkhold appeared?

While this is the first time it's appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it's not the first time it's seen in any Marvel TV shows. In the third season of Marvel's Runaways, Morgan Le Fay uses the book. She attempts to try to take over Earth by merging it with the Dark Dimension using some of the spells within it. Eventually, the Runaways get the book for themselves and are able to use it to open a portal to banish Morgan for good.

In Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the Darkhold is used by Doctor Holden Radcliffe to help re-create the Framework, a virtual reality world where several characters are trapped and given totally brand new lives. Ghost Rider eventually takes the book to Hell to keep it safe.

Is the Darkhold the same book in all three?

That's the question that has a lot of fans scratching their heads. The books in all three shows have all had a different look, so it's possible that there are different versions that exist. However, there's no official word on whether this is true or not. With Wanda set to appear in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, we're going to have to wait to get some answers.
