The actor and his daughter, Lucy, took part in "Vanity Fair's" most recent lie detector test.

Danny DeVito and his daughter, Lucy, are the most recent victims thrown into Vanity Fair's hot seat. The hot seat being, of course, the one which sits next to the publication's famous lie detector test.

The elder DeVito was admittedly nervous about the occasion. "Really weird, because people, especially from—remember, I'm Italian from New Jersey, to be in a room like this, it's like… I'm terrified," the actor said before he was ever even hooked up to the test. "I have a tough time wearing a wire. Because, you know, you get caught wearing a wire in New Jersey..." he trailed off, making a cutthroat gesture.

Still, he allowed them to hook him up first, and Lucy jumped right into grilling him. After a few questions to calibrate the machine, she showed her father a picture of Michael Keaton. "Do you think that this Batman-"

"Yes," Danny cut her off, "is my favorite." Michael Keaton, he reminded her, was Batman when he played The Penguin in 1992's Batman Returns, and Lucy realized she didn't even need to show him any other "Batmen."

"This is the Batman for me…Yeah, Michael," he repeated.

"What about this Penguin?" she asked next, sliding another photo across the table.

"Oh. Colin [Farrell]?" The actor took on the role of The Penguin 30 years later, in 2022's The Batman, starring Robert Pattinson. "I love Colin; he's a terrific guy," Danny said. "My Penguin was better," he added matter-of-factly, sending his daughter into a fit of laughter. He then turned to the tech who was analyzing the polygraph. "Was that the truth?"

"You were telling the truth," she confirmed. Hey, at least he was honest!

"It certainly was," Danny said at the same time Lucy agreed, "It is the truth." They both dissolved into further laughter before he clarified, "In my opinion!"

He conceded that Farrell is a good guy—just not (as good) a Penguin. And that's his truth!
