Danny Bonaduce Announces Major Surgery Following Health Scare

Danny Bonaduce is opening up about his difficult health journey over the last year, which has now led him to need brain surgery.

The Partridge Family alum revealed on June 2 that he is scheduled to go under the knife on Monday, June 5, after suffering from a severe health scare in April 2022 that left him unable to walk or balance properly.

While speaking to TMZ, the 63-year-old radio host explained that he's been searching for answers ever since he was hospitalized last year for having difficulty speaking, walking and balancing. At the time, doctors ruled out a stroke as the cause of the symptoms, but he wasn't provided any other diagnosis until recently.

Bonaduce revealed on Friday that he has since been diagnosed with a neurological disorder called hydrocephalus, which the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) describes as "a condition in which excess cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) builds up within the fluid-containing cavities or ventricles of the brain."

"I've met with a hundred doctors," Bonaduce told the outlet, as he wondered over the possible causes for the condition, which he mused might have something to do with his reckless actions in the past.

"I've done so many stupid things," he stated. “On a reality TV show, I took a guitar to the head and that hurt. That’s possibly the cause of all this." He also recalled getting "punched in the face" by professional athlete Jose Canseco, which apparently could've done some damage.

As for his upcoming surgery, Bonaduce claims he could potentially feel "50 percent better right away," after the procedure, as long as the diagnosis is what the doctors believe it is.

While he said he didn't wan't to get his hopes up too high that he'll be "cured," after the surgery, he did admit, "I will be completely bummed out if this doesn't work."
