How Danielle Fishel’s Beauty Routine Has Changed Since Having a Baby

It’s no secret that when you become a mom, your to-do list only grows—and often, the thing that winds up at the very bottom of the list is, well, anything that has to do with taking care of you. It’s something Boy Meets World and Girl Meets World star Danielle Fishel knows all too well: “Some days, my husband will come home and I’m still in the robe I put on that morning, and I haven’t gotten anything done. I’ve maybe brushed my teeth,” she laughs in her exclusive chat with PureWow.

As a result, the Be Free by Danielle Fishel hair care founder is all about streamlining her routine, finding that the one way to ensure she can change out of that robe and swipe on some mascara is to wait to get ready until her 5-month-old son, Adler, has his first nap of the day. “That’s when I shower, and I don’t wash my hair, ever, myself at home,” she says. “That’s my one indulgence: I don’t like to blow dry my hair anymore. I bring my own products to Dry Bar, and I get my hair done there once a week.”

Yes, Fishel's gravity-defying, ultra-glossy hair was popular enough on Boy Meets World to be its own character on the show. But it still remains as voluminous as it was in her ‘90s sitcom days…and six days of the week, she can say she woke up like that. (In news you already know, life is not fair.) There is a secret to making her look last—one she created herself. Fishel rubs a few drops of her company’s Scalp Refresh (a vitamin-based “hair cocktail” designed to keep your follicles healthy) into her roots. “It works as well as dry shampoo, without weighing my hair down,” she explains.

If it’s good enough for Topanga, it’s good enough for us.
