Daniel Lissing and Merritt Patterson Star in Great American Family's 'Catering Christmas'

When Calls the Heart star Daniel Lissing joins the Great American Family Christmas movie lineup.
Christmas may be several months away, but many networks that feature holiday films throughout the fall and winter season are already getting productions into gear for those yuletide movies. In fact, some already have several films in the can, ready to roll out once there's a chill in the air! Great American Family announced earlier this year that production began (and has since wrapped) on their first movie for their 2022 Great American Christmas celebration, Catering Christmas.
Here's what we know about Catering Christmas so far.
What is Catering Christmas about?
New business owner, Molly Frost (Merritt Patterson) is struggling to launch her new catering business when she unexpectedly lands New Hampshire’s biggest event of the year, the Harrison Foundation Christmas Gala. Meanwhile, Carson Harrison (Daniel Lissing), who will be managing the event this year, is the very reluctant heir to his family’s foundation. Carson is a renowned photographer who has spent years jet-setting around the world to avoid taking over the foundation from his Aunt Jean. Molly, a hometown girl who once was the beneficiary of the foundation’s generosity, takes Carson on a journey to learn about all the good his family provides to so many. The discovery inspires Carson to use his artistic gifts to create the most heartwarming fundraiser in the history of the foundation.

Catering Christmas premieres on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 8 p.m. ET on Great American Family.
Who stars in Catering Christmas?
Merritt Patterson (Molly)
Patterson is probably best known for her role as Ophelia on The Royals. She has appeared in several holiday movies over the years including The Christmas Cottage, Christmas at the Palace and Picture a Perfect Christmas. She most recently starred in Jingle Bell Princess for GAC.

Daniel Lissing (Carson)
Daniel Lissing is best known for his roles as Mountie Jack Thornton on Hallmark Channel's When Calls the Heart and as James King on ABC's Last Resort. He reprised his role as Mountie Jack in a single scene on When Hope Calls: A Country Christmas this past holiday season on GAC. He also starred as a park ranger in GAC's A Christmas Star opposite Sara Canning.
"Catering Christmas is an idyllic GAC Christmas movie. It has everything good audiences have come to expect from this growing network. There was a chemistry on set that I think people will love to see on their screens. It was a real pleasure to be a part of this one," said Lissing of the film.
