Daniel Kaluuya and His Rumored GF Amandla Crichlow Have the Most Low-Key Relationship

Daniel Kaluuya is heading to the Oscars. At this year’s 93rd Academy Awards, the British actor is nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his riveting portrayal of Fred Hampton in the historical drama Judas and the Black Messiah. Daniel made his debut at the award show three years ago with his rumored girlfriend by his side. Perhaps on Sunday, the Black Panther star will be accompanied by her once again. But who is Daniel’s alleged leading lady, Amandla Crichlow? Here's what we know:

Amandla is an actress and producer.

Like Daniel, Amandla is also in the film industry. According to her IMDB, her first project was the TV mini-series Prime Suspect 7: The Final Actor in 2006. Amandla’s résumé also includes working behind the scenes as a production coordinator. She’s been part of pre-production for shows like Peaky Blinders.

In April 2019, Amandla joined Daniel’s production company, 59%, as a producer, per her LinkedIn. Shortly after, Deadline reported that she was appointed an executive at the company. During this time, she’s worked on the action-drama Curfew.

She and Daniel are supposedly a pretty private couple.

In January 2018, Daniel was nominated for Best Actor at the Golden Globes for his work in the horror thriller Get Out. This black-tie event was the first time Daniel was spotted with Amandla. That year, she attended several other red-carpet affairs with Daniel like the SAG Awards, the premiere of Black Panther and the 90th Academy Awards.

Since then, the couple has been photographed only one other time at an afterparty for Daniel's film Queen & Slim in November 2019. What’s more, neither Daniel nor Amandla are active on social media.

Her family is well known.

If Amandla’s last name rings a bell it might be because her father was British Civil Rights activist Frank Crichlow. In 1968, Amandla’s father opened to the doors to his Trinidadian restaurant Mangrove in Notting Hill, London. Locals quickly made the all-night eatery their go-to stop. But in the 1970s, tensions rose when London police repeatedly raided Mangrove under the pretense of drug searches, according to Bustle. Frank protested against the racist encounters and was part of the Mangrove Nine.

Additionally, Amandla has an older sister named Lenora Crichlow. She’s also an actress, best known for her roles in Sugar Rush and Black Mirror.
