'Dancing with the Stars' Pros File for Divorce After Four Years of Marriage

The pair got engaged during a live episode of Dancing with the Stars in 2016.

Their dance is done. Dancing with the Stars pro Emma Slater filed for divorce from Sasha Farber on Tuesday, People magazine reported.

The couple had been married four years and Emma cited “irreconcilable differences” in the court documents that she filed as the reason for their split. The action didn’t come as a surprise since they had been separated for several months now. Those same documents list their official separation date as April 2022.

People went on to say that a source told them, "Emma and Sasha still remain close. There's no bad blood between them."

The dance duo met in 2009 while performing on Broadway in Burn The Floor. However, it was two years before they confirmed they were a couple in 2011. They ended up publicly breaking up a few years later in 2014, but got back together not too long after.

In a romantic gesture, Sasha proposed during a live episode of Dancing with the Stars in 2016 with all of America watching. He got down on one knee in the middle of the ballroom, and told her, "I love you so much. Will you marry me?"

They married in March 2018 at the Bella Blanca in Los Angeles. Pros Derek Hough, Witney Carson, and Lindsay Arnold were all in the wedding party, and the event was attended by a number of DWTS pros and Emma and Sasha's partners through the years.

As proof that there is no bad blood between them, both Emma and Sasha are currently performing as part of the Dancing with the Stars Tour 2023 and will hopefully return for Season 32 of the show. In Season 31, Sasha was paired with Selma Blair, who had to pull out of the competition due to health reasons, and Emma was paired with Trevor Donovan, finishing in sixth place.
