It was a one-year experiment, but it must have not paid off as Dancing with the Stars will return to ABC this fall for its 32nd season after streaming last season live on Disney+, it was reported by Vulture.

Dancing With the Stars had aired on ABC since its premiere in 2005, so it was a surprise when the move was made to streaming, but the thought behind it was that Disney wanted to increase its subscribers to Disney+, its streaming service. The powers that be that instituted that change have since left, and the new regime is returning DWTS to its home network.

Of course, when it returns it won’t look the same. Host Tyra Banks has been replaced by Alfonso Ribeiro, and Julianne Hough is returning to the show as the co-host. Also, the judging panel will be short Len Goodman, who retired at the end of last season prior to his death in April after a battle with bone cancer. That said, Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough are in place to once again serve as judges.

It is also likely that DWTS will be relocating to a new studio as the CBS complex where it used to broadcast live from has been sold and other shows, such as American Idol, which were located there have also found new studio space.

Also not returning this fall with be pro dancer Cheryl Burke, who also announced her departure, and Mark Ballas, who returned to win last season with partner Charli D’Amelio, is also walking away.

Dancing with the Stars may be moving back to ABC, but it will still stream live on Disney+ for folks who have a subscription to the streamer. ABC has not yet made an official announcement about the change.
