'Dance Moms' Star Brady Farrar Slams 'GMA' and Host Lara Spencer For Mocking Prince George's Ballet Lessons

Good Morning America co-host Lara Spencer is receiving a lot of backlash from the dance community for her recent comments about Prince George's curriculum and love of ballet. One of the people shaming the anchor is Dance Mom's newest star, and male-identifying dancer, Brady Farrar.

The criticism comes after a recent segment, in which Spencer and her co-anchors, George Stephanopoulos and Amy Robach, were discussing the classes Prince George would take in the upcoming school year. Among the typical math, science, and history, Spencer listed ballet as one of the 6-year-old's courses.

At the mention of the subject, Spencer and the audience started laughing. Spencer then said, while giggling, "Prince William said Prince George absolutely loves ballet … I have news for you Prince William, we’ll see how long that lasts."

People were quick to criticize her coverage of the topic, with some deeming her a bully. One of those critics was Farrar. The 14-year-old called out the anchor via Instagram, wiritng that he was "ashamed of your mockery and laughter."

Many users commented on Farrar's post. Some shared their stories of being made fun of for pursuing dance. Others, like Dance Moms choreographer Gianna Martello, expressed similar outrage over the segment.

Although she did not comment on his post, Abby Lee Miller shared her thoughts on the Prince George segment to her own Instagram page. In a video, Miller told GMA it was time to "wake up," noting that "it's 2019, I thought this stuff was over."

It's worth noting that Spencer has since apologized for her comments via Instagram. In a post shared Friday, she offered "sincere apologies for an insensitive comment I made in pop news yesterday," and encouraged her followers to find their passions and "GO FOR IT."
