She may not be walking the runways at New York Fashion Week, but Dakota Johnson certainly knows how to make a bold statement at a Hollywood event.
The Fifty Shades of Grey star proved this true when she attended the 23rd annual Hollywood Film Awards in November 2019. While she prefers to don see-through outfits down the red carpet, she switched up her look with a black structured sequined jumpsuit. The top portion's bold lapels accentuated a plunging neckline, while the pants stopped right above her ankles.
With the monochromatic ensemble being equal parts modest and sexy, Dakota stepped up the rest of the attire with her accessories.
Despite wearing minimalistic jewelry to the event, the actress spiced up the moment with dark colored nails and a pair of strappy heel sandals. The Persuasion cast member pulled her dark brown hair into a strategically messy ponytail and added a smoky eye for a more dramatic effect. She then completed the appearance with her signature rosy cheeks and a neutral lip color.
When photos from the night began circulating on social media, fans immediately fell in love with Dakota's departure from outfits that push the envelope. They soon began commenting about how much they enjoyed seeing her rock the jumpsuit on the red carpet.
"Ohhh she is amazing 🤩🤩🤩🤩," one person wrote on Instagram. "So beautiful," another agreed. "Goddess," a different follower added.
Dakota's venture into one-piece outfits just shows how versatile she's become with fashion. What's more, she has worn this style numerous times over the past few years. In October 2018, she appeared in a black lace jumpsuit when she was invited as a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. She pulled off a similar look a few years later on the red carpet of the 2022 Met Gala, albeit in a see-through form.
Essentially, Dakota knows no bounds with her attire, and we're excited to see what comes next.
