Dakota Johnson Puts a Spider Web Spin on a transparent Chainmail Dress

Dakota Johnson continued to honor her superhero character in Sony Pictures's Madame Web on the red carpet.

For the Los Angeles premiere of the new Marvel Comics-based film, the actor showed up at the A-lister event wearing a bejeweled take on the classic chainmail dress. The custom Gucci piece features an interlocking web of encrusted crystals, constructing a floor-grazing gown with a plunging deep V neckline and a low back. Underneath the revealing piece, Johnson wore nothing but a bodysuit that matched her skin tone.

To finish off the dazzling look, Johnson and her stylist, Kate Young, opted for a pair of strappy black leather heeled sandals and a glittery diamond choker cuff necklace.

At the premiere, costar Sydney Sweeney followed a similar style cue, wearing a custom Oscar de la Renta dress with a sequined web-like pattern emblazoned across the fitted corset.

Johnson has previously paid sartorial homage to Madame Web; at another red-carpet event earlier this month, where she wore the Cobweb Dress by Annie’s Ibiza. The eye-popping ensemble featured a transparent black gown and matching veiled hood, both covered in a web-shaped pattern that dripped with glittering crystals.

She had a more subdued take for the movie's first red-carpet event in late January, where she wore a sleek black skirt suit composed of a cropped blazer and a midi-length pencil skirt from Versace's Pre-Fall 2024 collection. At the time, she paired the set with black pointed-toe leather mules from Bottega Veneta, plus an array of diamond and gold jewelry from Jessica McCormack.
