If there's any couple out there with enough star power to make us believe in love again, it's Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin. The two have been dating for almost five years now, and, while they definitely prefer to keep their romance on the DL, they’ve shared more little snippets about their love life with the public lately. And I am so here for it.

Even though they’re hush-hush about their romance, it doesn't leave us any less curious about what's been going on with them, right? Well, here’s what you need to know.

They were first spotted together in 2017.

In October of 2017, rumors began to circulate that the two were dating. The actress, then 28, and Coldplay frontman, then 41, were spotted on a sushi date in Los Angeles, People reported. They were “cozy, laughing, and affectionate,” a source told People, also noting it was just the two of them at dinner.

They met through a friend.

In a 2022 Vanity Fair profile, Dakota said that she and Chris met through a friend. After that, she said, they’ve “never really left each other.” Aww.

Dakota and Chris have a 13-year age difference.

Today, Chris is 45 and Dakota is 32.

In 2021, she told Elle UK that she feels like she acts both younger and older than she really is.

“I feel both 48 and 26,” Dakota said. “I’ve had a lot of life in my life. I had a lot of life really young, so I think I feel older.”

There were rumors Dakota was pregnant in 2018.

But Dakota set those rumors to rest after showing up on The Ellen Degeneres Show. She said this was certainly not the case. "The only thing I'm pregnant with is a lot of really good ideas. But not a baby," she said, per Popsugar.

They've stayed pretty low-key.

Since their early dating days, Dakota and Chris have stayed pretty tight-lipped about their relationship. When asked about Chris in an interview with Tatler back in 2018, Dakota said, “I’m not going to talk about it, but I am very happy."

This summer, while Chris was on tour with Coldplay, the two stepped out in Manhattan in a rare public outing, Entertainment Tonight reported. And they looked super happy together.

They have matching tattoos.

According to The Cut, Dakota and Chris took their relationship to the next level by getting matching infinity tattoos in 2018. Apparently Dakota's tattoo is just below her elbow and Chris chose to put his on his forearm.

Chris joined Dakota for her 2019 Peanut Butter Falcon premiere.

While Dakota and Chris are scary good at evading the paparazzi together, he showed up for the premiere of her 2019 movie, Peanut Butter Falcon, and sat with her parents during the event, according to Hollywood Life. A source told the publication that Chris cleared his schedule so he could be there, but purposefully stayed BTS to keep the focus on Dakota.

And she directed one of his music videos.

That same year, Dakota actually went behind the camera to direct Coldplay’s 2019 music video for "Cry, Cry, Cry."

"I wrote the story and pitched it to the band like every other director did – and they chose mine," Dakota told Marie Claire. "Not because they're partial to me at all."

They bought a house in 2020 and moved in together.

Things definitely seem pretty serious now because the couple bought a house together in Malibu for a reported $12.5 million, according to the New York Post. It’s a modern 5,338 square-foot Cape Cod-style mansion on Point Dume in Malibu that boasts six bedrooms and nine bathrooms. It also has a two-story guest house with a game room, a pool with a spa, and an outdoor barbecue area.

In case you haven't guessed, Dakota and Chris like to keep things low-key. And they got used to kicking it at home together during the pandemic. A source told People they like to go to dinner with friends, but "mostly have friends over at home." Also on their homebody agenda: Walks around the neighborhood and strolls on the beach.

Dakota supports Chris at his performances.

Dakota told VF that she goes on tour with her S.O. when she’s not working. And, apparently, Chris appreciates having her close.

While he was performing onstage in October of 2021, Chris pointed Dakota out to the crowd before performing his new song, “My Universe,” and said, “This is about my universe.” BRB, crying.

Gwyneth Paltrow approves of their 'ship.

During a fan AMA on Instagram in January of this year, Chris's ex, Gwyneth Paltrow, gave Dakota props. When asked if she “loves” Dakota, Gwyneth replied with, “very much," per Us Weekly. And this wasn't the first time she's said something like this, either!

Back in 2020, Gwyneth posted an Instagram birthday tribute to Dakota and told Harper's BAZAAR, “I love her...I can see how it would seem weird because it’s sort of unconventional. But I think, in this case, just having passed through it iteratively, I just adore her."

Sounds like Dakota gets the ex-wife stamp of approval for sure!
