Yes, Dakota Johnson wanted to see how Angelina Jolie would react to Jennifer Aniston presenting at the Golden Globes. And honestly, can you blame her? The night of the awards, the Internet immediately latched onto a picture of Johnson not-so-subtly sneaking a peek in Jolie’s direction as Aniston spoke from the stage, and now the Fifty Shades Freed star has revealed that, actually, she was also maybe looking at someone else.

“I’m not the only one. Elizabeth [Chambers, Armie Hammer’s wife] is, like, very blatantly looking at her,” Johnson said when confronted with the picture on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon. This checks out; look at the woman seated next to Armie and tell me she’s not sneaking a peek at Angie. “She’s like, ‘What is she going to do?’ And I was trying to be sly about it.”

Sly or not, Johnson was definitely looking at something, but she said it may have been an entirely different table. If you follow the angle of her gaze, you’ll see that she actually looks past Jolie to...the Stranger Things kids? “Well, there was the actual kids table, which was the Stranger Things table,” Johnson explained. “And I really love Stranger Things so much, like, so much, so I tried to send my friend a—which is like, the thing that I hate the most, when people are in restaurants or whatever, when they try to take a sneaky picture of you like this—so I did that at the Golden Globes in front of—like, everyone there is a famous person. But I was trying to take a video of these kids. Like, they’re children, I know, and I was like, zooming in, but then I also accidentally caught maybe [director] Ridley Scott asleep. But then I think maybe he was just looking at his phone. But it looked like he was asleep.”
