Dakota Johnson Brings Romance to the Red Carpet With a Princess-Worthy Updo

While waist-grazing waves and half-up top knots may have reigned supreme this summer, fall is bringing with it a suddenly overwhelming desire to lean into all things polished. Last night in Toronto, Dakota Johnson took that dressed up sensibility along to the red carpet, channeling a modern-day princess with a romantic updo and flushed cheeks.

For The Hollywood Reporter's annual event in the Canadian metropolis, Johnson enlisted the help of friend and pro hairstylist Mark Townsend, who raked back her brunette lengths into a single high bun, making sure to leave a few storybook tendrils framing her flawless complexion. In the makeup department, artist Georgie Eisdell dipped into a palette of warm nude tones, mixing deep brown and purple shades to create the perfect autumn-inspired pout, courtesy of Dior's Backstage collection.

Red carpet or not, consider the piecey, textured bun the season's cool girl alternative to a slicked pony—your move, Meghan Markle.
