Daisy Ridley Shuts Down Body-Shamers: “Real Women Are All Shapes And Sizes”

Daisy Ridley is fighting back against body shaming. The “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” actress has hit headlines for responding to a meme posted on Instagram, questioning her casting as Rey in the hit franchise.

The post slammed Ridley for setting “unrealistic expectations” for young women, due to her slender frame. And it’s safe to say Ridley wasn’t happy with the comments.

Posting a screenshot of the meme, Ridley wrote: “’Real women’ are all shapes and sizes, all ethnicities, all levels of brave, have families, don’t have families. I am a ‘real women’ like every other woman in this world.”

She’s since deleted the post, most likely for legal reasons as it included the name of the person who originally uploaded the insult, and instead posted a public essay standing by her original comments.
