Daisy Ridley’s Star Wars journey isn’t over. She’s set to star in a follow-up to 2019's Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker with an all-new movie set 15 years after the ending.

Speaking to Collider, Ridley said: “I’m very excited. The story is really cool. I’m waiting to read a script because, obviously, I don’t have any other updates. It’s not what I expected, but I’m very excited.”

The as-yet untitled film was announced at Star Wars Celebration 2023. While still in its early days at this point, with no script to speak of, it’s said to take place in a period of prosperity known as the New Jedi Order. Ridley, who plays Rey Skywalker, will help rebuild the Jedi back to their Episode 1 heyday.

It’ll be directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, with input by Dave Filoni, who's recently been promoted to chief creative officer at Lucasfilm. It's not just Ridley; Taika Waititi has broken his silence on his Star Wars film.

Expect Ridley’s next Star Wars film no sooner than 2025 at the earliest.
