Daisy Kent Celebrates International Cochlear Implant Day With Emotional Post

Joey Graziadei has obviously stolen the hearts of adoring fans everywhere thanks to his adorable season of The Bachelor. But, there's one contestant who's been getting almost as much buzz as the leading man himself: 25-year-old Daisy Kent.
Daisy has been open about her experiences with Ménière's disease, Lyme disease, and profound hearing loss (for which she has a cochlear implant). The Minnesota native recently shared her emotional experience with her health in honor of International Cochlear Implant Day, writing that "losing my hearing has been the loneliest pain I have experienced."
"I pictured myself in a glass box since I was 15 and I’m pounding on the walls screaming and terrified," she wrote in a Feb. 25 Instagram post. "People are looking in at me and they can’t hear me. I can’t hear them. I am alone with one of the most dangerous things—my thoughts."
After years of "confusion" (and feeling, "quite frankly, pissed off"), Daisy added that "losing my hearing taught me how to fall back in love with myself."
"I’m not going to say it’s okay, because I would be lying," she said. "I’m still coping with that and I know it will take time and understanding. Losing my hearing has given me the ability to look at myself and realize how strong I am, how capable I am, how I have the ability to take something difficult and create something beautiful."
But who is Daisy Kent, and how far does she make it in Joey’s season of The Bachelor? Here’s everything to know about this new reality star so far.
Where is Daisy from?
According to The Bachelor, Daisy's hometown is Becker, Minnesota, which is in between Minneapolis and St. Cloud. The account executive had a seriously picturesque childhood, telling cameras during the premiere episode that she grew up on a Christmas tree farm! (Hence, why she enters the mansion with a fir tree in tow.)
Daisy has been on a serious health journey.
When she was 15, she realized she was having hearing issues when her dad had trouble waking her up one day. "He was shaking me, and I was like, 'This is weird,'” she told CBS 8. "I looked at him, I couldn't hear him, then sat up and realized something was wrong with my left ear.”
Daisy said she had “a lot of high-pitched ringing and then just progressively got worse, and I couldn't understand speech very well.” She said the experience was “super isolating” and that she felt very alone at the time.
When she was 17, she was diagnosed with Meniere's disease, a disorder of the inner ear. At 21, tests confirmed that she also had Lyme disease, which doctors think could have potentially caused her Meniere's disease.
Daisy ended up experiencing seizures, hair loss, joint pain, and severe dizziness, according to a video she made for NEXA Cares.
She has profound hearing loss and a cochlear implant.
Hearing aids didn’t work for Daisy, so she ended up getting a cochlear implant, which allows people with profound hearing loss to hear better, per CBS 8.
She actually documented her experience on TikTok and built up a big following. (Her account currently has over 200,000 followers.) "My parents said, 'You have this opportunity to turn it into something special,' and so I thought, 'I'm going to start posting, mainly for myself,” she said.
Daisy reflected on her journey in an Instagram post honoring International Cochlear Implant Day, writing, "Getting a cochlear implant has been well painful, exciting, new, confusing, funny, strange, difficult, frustrating, and beautiful."
"I wake up learning new sounds every single day. God is working through me in ways I never thought He would," she added. "It’s quite peaceful, quite magical. I am finding the beauty in all the unexpected things."
How old is she?
Daisy is 25 and she’s a Virgo, in case you were wondering. She was born on September 8, 1998.
In 2021, she starred in a music video
Before becoming a fan-favorite on The Bachelor, Daisy was featured on a song by Abe$ called "Sundown" back in 2021. She starred in his music video for the song, alongside the artist.

On her own YouTube channel, Daisy has posted other singing videos that show off her lovely singing voice. She covered "Turning Tables" by Adele, "Stay" by Rihanna, and she even posted a song she wrote about Lyme Disease called "Mastermind," which she made a music video for.
The clips in the video are from when she was in Germany receiving treatment for Lyme Disease, she explained in the caption.
What does Daisy do for a living?
Daisy works for Jungo, a mortgage software company, and she's been there for more than three years, according to LinkedIn. She’s currently an account executive for the company.
But that's not all. Daisy founded her own nonprofit in 2021, Hear Your Heart, that supports children who have autoimmune disorders or hearing loss.
She graduated from San Diego State University.
Daisy attended college from 2017 to 2021, when she graduated with a degree in communications, digital and social media, per her LinkedIn. During her time in college, she also appears to have studied abroad in Barcelona.

Daisy wrote and released a book this past August called Daisy Doo: All the Sounds She Knew. The book follows a young girl named Daisy Doo as she relearns her favorite sounds thanks to a cochlear implant.
"I always wanted to write a children's book," she told CBS 8. “When I got the surgery, I realized there were a lot of emotions I went through. I was so scared; there was a lot of unknowns." (By the way, she dedicated her book to her surgeon, Dr. Elina Kari, and the UC San Diego Health medical staff who treated her.)
How far does Daisy get on The Bachelor?

Reality Steve already has all the tea on what goes down this season, so if you've read through his posts, you'll already know that Daisy goes *very* far on Joey’s season of The Bachelor.
After getting the first one-on-one date with Joey, Daisy ultimately snags a second one in Canada, per Reality Steve.
And, according to the spoilers guru, she actually ends up winning the entire season! Reality Steve says the two end up getting engaged in Tulum, Mexico—despite those rumors about Kelsey A. actually being the one to take the crown.
Are Daisy and Joey still together?
That much is not super clear yet. After making her TikTok and Instagram accounts private for some time, Daisy recently made them public again. While it could just be for the sake of keeping their engagement a secret, Daisy and Joey currently do not appear in each other's followers lists on Instagram.
In a recent post, Daisy shared her cast photo. "There's gonna be a lot of roses...but there's only one Daisy. 🤭," she wrote in the caption.
She also posted a video using the same cast photo on TikTok, where she liked a response from one user in the comment section who wrote, "You and Joey would be soooo cute together 😉."
