It’s the dog days of summer, and ice cream is where our minds often wander when we want a special treat (or 8pm hits of any given weeknight). Last month, Dairy Queen's fall flavor lineup leaked, including August’s Blizzard of the Month flavor. Despite our assertions that it's still too early to be thinking about fall (or winter, for that matter!), we can't deny that DQ brought some serious heat—or shall we say cool—with its new Blizzard lineup.

Well, August is officially here, and the Blizzard of the Month is now rolling out on menus across the country at participating Dairy Queen shops. And fans could not be more excited. Why? Because it's not just any flavor—it's a fan favorite from last summer that's been brought back due to popular demand. Here's what you need to know about the Caramel Fudge Cheesecake Blizzard.

Dairy Queen Brings Back the Caramel Fudge Cheesecake Blizzard

Dairy Queen first introduced the Caramel Fudge Cheesecake Blizzard in Spring 2022 as part of its All-Star Summer Blizzard lineup. The frozen treat features vanilla soft serve blended with cheesecake pieces and fudge-covered salty caramel pieces.

To build up some hype for its return, DQ posted a video to the brand’s Instagram page walking viewers through the creation of a Caramel Fudge Cheesecake Blizzard. They see the soft serve ice cream going into a cup, the addition of the caramel sauce, then the fudge-covered salted caramel pieces, along with big chunks of cheesecake. Then they hear the “happy Blizzard sound,” as DQ calls it, when everything in the cup is whizzed into one with a blender. Of course, it concludes with the signature Blizzard flip.

Just as the voiceover promises, "That’s cheesecake perfection if you ask me.”

DQ Fans Celebrate the Return of the Caramel Fudge Cheesecake Blizzard

And we're not the only ones excited to hear that this Blizzard is back on the menu. Comments on the DQ Instagram post rolled in. “This is the best Blizzard flavor...LOVE it,” commented one Instagram user. Another raved, “This one is sooooo yummy.” When the Blizzard debuted last year, TikTok users went wild, with some calling it "THE BEST ONE YET," and others commenting, "I tried this one recently and it instantly became my new favorite!"

Some social media users shared their suggestions for ways to make it even better (if that's possible). “I order this without the cheesecake pieces and I always ask for extra truffles, my absolute fave,” one user commented on Dairy Queen's video. Dairy Queen did not get offended at the change—in fact, it offered its own choice of substitution. The brand’s social media team responded, “Replace the cheesecake with brownie. Thank me later.”

Dairy Queen’s Fall Blizzard Lineup Is Coming Soon

Throughout the month or so, expect to see other returning fan favorite flavors as well as one new one. Dairy Queen will be officially rolling out its fall menu starting August 28, according to a post on the Instagram page @snackolator. The menu includes the brand new Royal Reese's Fluffernutter Blizzard, filled with a marshmallow creme center. DQ is also bringing back beloved Blizzards like Oreo Hot Cocoa, Snickerdoodle Cookie Dough, Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Pie, and Choco Dipped Strawberry. If summer has to end, at least it means we'll have a new Dairy Queen menu to soften the blow.
