There will never be a replacement for any animal who's passed on, but sometimes a new love can help heal. Kalynn and her family know this, so they surprised Scott with the Newfoundland puppy of his dreams for Father's Day. His reaction is everything!

How sweet is that? This precious dad really didn't see this kind of surprise coming, and he seems overjoyed to meet his new best friend. It sounds like he had already been talking about getting a dog, too, so we know he's ready to let another animal into his heart. It couldn't be a more perfect Father's Day!
So many viewers like @cindylester20 are loving "the way the dog hugged him," and so are we. It's like the puppy knew he needed the hug! Considering that dogs are very social, empathetic animals, it's entirely possible that the puppy did know his new dad was feeling some strong emotions. Regardless--there's no denying how priceless this moment is, especially with the whole family watching.
Welcoming home a new puppy can be such a joyful process, but it can also be incredibly chaotic. Everyone needs time to settle into new routines, and you can't expect your new puppy to be perfectly potty trained right off the bat. Scott and his pup will have some work to do together--including obedience training and shopping for puppy supplies--but it seems like they'll enjoy every moment of it!
