Dad uses McDonald’s wrappers to make home-cooked food look like Happy Meals

This parent disguises home-cooked meals to look like Happy Meals!

It’s been said that compromise is the art of dividing a cake in such a way that all parties believe they got the biggest piece. For TikToker and parent Eddie Alvarez (@bestdad_ceo), compromise is the art of giving your kids a cheeseburger in such a way that makes them believe they got a Happy Meal from McDonald’s, as shown in his video, which viewers are calling genius.

The clip opens with a shot of Alvarez tossing frozen hamburger patties onto a grill. In the following footage, Alvarez opens a drawer to reveal stacks of McDonald’s wrapping paper used for Happy Meals.

Alvarez then disguises the cheeseburgers he grilled with the McDonald’s wrapping paper before serving them to his excited kids, who happily devour them without noticing the difference between a burger from their backyard and a burger from McDonald’s.

Viewers were impressed with the clever hack, and some even had a few tips for making the burger look even more authentically McDonald’s.

“As a McDonald’s worker, you forgot to punch the burger to make it flat. That’s what gives it the iconic flat look, but, overall, 7/10,” assessed one McDonald’s employee.

Watch this bland Brooklyn bedroom become a mid-century modern escape in just one day:

“For the Happy Meal toy, just grab one they already have that they don’t use. If they notice, say, ‘Oh man! I hate it when we get repeats,’” one parent suggested.

“The presentation is too nice. You really gotta throw it together in a rush,” critiqued one user playfully.

“Then when they grow up, they’ll say, ‘Damn, they don’t make them like they used to,’” one TikToker joked.

While the creative packaging hack may work for hamburgers, it would be interesting to see if it also works for vegetables.
