D. L. Hughley’s new book tackles police brutality - and is dedicated to his son with Asperger’s

On Wednesday, comedian D. L. Hughley stopped by "The View" to talk about his new book, "How Not to Get Shot." The book is a satire of advice from white people and one topic he tackles is police brutality against people of color. He told "The View," "The murder of black people at the hands of people of authority has always happened. And police are doing what they have always done." Hughley dedicated the book to his 29-year-old son Kyle. Author dedications to family members are a dime a dozen but this one is especially significant. Hughley explained, "My son is a young black man who has Asperger's syndrome. The people that get shot most by police are people that are mentally or emotionally disturbed. You're going take my son away because he didn't understand something?" Hughley went on to explain the instructions he's given Kyle should he ever get in trouble with the cops: "Be respectful. I tell him, if he doesn't understand what they're saying [say] 'Officer, I'm not trying to be disrespectful to you. Call my father.'"
