In an effort to support the Lāhainā community devastated by the Hawiian wildfires, the cycling apparel manufacturer Pactimo is partnering with local Maui artist Welzie to create a limited edition jersey design. The artist’s canvas for creating the two available Maui Relief designs is Pactimo’s 37.5 Summit Aero Mesh jersey.

The jersey retails for $125 USD, and according to the company $60 from every jersey will be donated to relief in Maui. Donated proceeds will be split between the Maui Strong Fund by the Hawai'i Communication Foundation and two local bike shops destroyed in the fire: the Maui Sunriders Bike Shop and West Maui Cycles.

When describing the design for the collection, the artist Welzie said, “It’s a whole bunch of sharks, different colors, all coming together to create one piece of art that’s happy. That’s like Lahaina, a little melting pot. That community is together, especially now, as we all work on getting our smiles back.”

Earlier this month, wildfires broke out on the island of Maui, killing at least 115 people and leaving over 1,100 others missing in the town of Lāhainā. It was the deadliest U.S. wildfire in more than a century. Search and rescue operations are still underway as survivors search for their missing neighbors.
