The CW Releases Second Trailer for "Roswell, New Mexico" Series

It's out of this world.

After months of waiting and the release of a seriously exciting teaser trailer, we finally have a new peek of The CW's upcoming Roswell reboot. The series — which was first announced back in March — will officially, uh, land on your television screens next month.

In a new teaser trailer — that contains some footage from the previously released Comic Con trailer — The CW confirms that the show will begin airing on January 15, 2019 at 9 p.m. EST. Called Roswell, New Mexico, the show takes a cue from its '90s television predecessor, focusing on a relationship that develops between average Roswell resident Liz Ortecho (Jeanine Mason) and Max (Nathan Parsons), an out-of-this-world alien visitor. This second glimpse at the show gives viewers a peek of their budding romance, including a tumultuous moment in which Max is warned about the dangers of falling for Liz.

As previously reported, The CW's version of the show will include a nod to the current political climate. According to The CW's show description, Liz, "the daughter of undocumented immigrants, discovers a shocking truth about her teenage crush who is now a police officer: he’s an alien who has kept his unearthly abilities hidden his entire life." As the two begin their romance, "the politics of fear and hatred threaten to expose him and destroy" what's blooming between them.

The series, directed by Julie Plec of The Vampire Diaries, features a cast that includes Pretty Little Liars actor Tyler Blackburn, former TVD cast member Michael Trevino, and Nathan Parsons of The Originals. So, yes, this is the television show revival of my dreams.
