CW Announces "The Vampire Diaries" and "The Originals" Spinoff, "Legacies"

Along with official reboots of "Roswell" and "Charmed."

The CW has announced what shows will be joining the network's fall schedule and there's good news for fans of The Vampire Diaries and all things supernatural.

As The Originals wraps up its final season and The Vampire Diaries continues to tease fans with secrets from the series that ended in 2017, E! News has reported that the CW has officially picked up a TVD spinoff.

Word of the upcoming series officially titled Legacies was announced back in March, and more details regarding a plot have finally been revealed. The show will reportedly focus on the character Hope Mikaelson — the vampire-witch-werewolf hybrid daughter of Hayley Marshall-Kenner and Klaus Mikaelson — and her time at a school for the supernatural called The Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted. Hope will reportedly be joined by a number of cast members for the show, including Aria Shahghasemi and Matt Davis (AKA Landon and Alaric). Plus, there's no telling what former TVD or Originals cast members could make a surprise appearance.

In addition to approving the spin-off, the network also announced it's given a second life to reboots of former '90s classics: Roswell and Charmed. The cast of Roswell was announced earlier this year, and features a number of familiar faces including Pretty Little Liars actor Tyler Blackburn, former TVD cast member Michael Trevino, and Nathan Parsons of The Originals. There's no word on how close to the OG script the Roswell revival will stay (maybe some evil clones?) but the show will reportedly take a political turn. As previously reported, actor Janine Mason will portray the "daughter of undocumented immigrants reluctantly returning to her tourist-trap hometown of Roswell, where she ends up discovering a shocking truth about her teen crush-turned-police officer: He's an alien."

There's even more magic expected this fall, thanks to the return of everyone's favorite magically gifted sisters on Charmed. Actors Madeleine Mantock, Melonie Diaz and Sarah Jeffery have all been confirmed to star in the series, E! reports. This revival of a classic will feature the sisters taking on some sinister evil-doers, and they'll also reportedly be "toppling the patriarchy." Be prepared for some demons who are fans of disco though. The show is reportedly going to be set in San Fransisco during the 1970s. The reboot will be written by the creator of Jane the Virgin Jennie Urman.

There's no official word on premiere dates for the new shows yet, but keep your eyes peeled, and your hot sauce ready.
