Fans of both comedy and love felt a little broken yesterday after a statement came out confirming that Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux have separated. The statement says that they made the decision together at the end of the year.
“This decision was mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year,” the statement read, noting that while it should have been a private decision, they wanted to get ahead of the gossip. “We are two best friends who have decided to part ways as a couple, but look forward to continuing our cherished friendship.”
The couple, who met while filming the movie Wanderlust back in 2011, got married in 2015. This was the first marriage for Theroux, and the second for Aniston, who — as you probably recall — had a very public divorce from actor Brad Pitt back in 2005.
Aniston and Theroux’s split has hit us all pretty hard, since we love them both and were basically obsessed with their relationship. Not to mention the statement came a day after Valentine’s Day. Sigh.

This one was posted in honor of her birthday last year. This year, Aniston celebrated with friends — but we don’t want to think about that right now.
The pair was always supportive of their mutual friends. Here, Aniston and Theroux honored Jason Bateman this past July when he received a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame.
