Curated Pavilions and Programs Facilitate Global Sourcing at Texworld New York City

Sourcing textiles and fashion items from so many countries around the globe is exciting and diversifies a brand’s offerings. It can also be a bit daunting. That’s why Texworld New York City, the largest sourcing event on the East Coast with 300 exhibitors from 20 countries, gives visitors practical trend and industry information to help direct their buys and optimize their business.

Held January 22-24, 2024 at the Jacob K. Javits Center with three co-located shows—Texworld New York City, Apparel Sourcing New York City and Printsource—the organizers have created rich educational programming, on-the-floor services and designated country pavilions to make the process more accessible. Here, a pre-show and show primer.

More from Sourcing Journal

First, before hitting the show, get prepped with educational media, from Texworld’s downloadable whitepaper “10 Musts for Every Apparel Sourcing Executive in 2024,” to The Texworld Thread for show updates and insights and the show’s latest digital magazine Zeitgeist.

Once on the floor, navigate the show’s international sourcing map with Texworld New York City’s dedicated country pavilions.

The Turkey Pavilion, for example, will spotlight Turkey’s dynamic and evolving textile landscape, underscoring its position as a key player in the international textile market. “We are delighted to welcome the Turkey Pavilion to our winter event. Turkey’s rich history in textile craftsmanship and its contemporary approach to manufacturing make it an invaluable addition to our diverse showcase of global talent,” said Jennifer Bacon, VP of Fashion + Apparel, Messe Frankfurt Inc.

Many companies also want to discover sources closer to home. As part of a forward-thinking initiative to empower the American supply chain, visitors can explore expanded domestic sourcing offerings inside the SEAMS Supply Chain USA Pavilion, a new addition to the Local Sourcing segment of the event. The expansion, coupled with Texworld New York City’s new partnership with SEAMS, enhances the show’s ability to provide a dynamic platform for exhibitors and attendees alike.

Sustainability and business

In addition to walking and shopping the co-located shows, attendees should be sure to visit the Textile Talks stage for informative panels and presentations each day, plus Explore the Floor guided tours by industry experts.

Sustainability, notably the business of sustainability, will be a major focus at the event, and there is so much to learn. With so many international regulations and initiatives to be aware of, don’t miss “The Green Transition: How Global Legislative Changes are Revolutionizing the Industry,” a panel exploring international regulations and initiatives on the industry’s strategies, operations and sustainability efforts. A new collaborative initiative between Texworld NYC and Material Innovation Initiative (MII), the Next-Gen Innovation Hub specialty area will provide buyers with insight and innovative, high-performing and sustainable fiber and material alternatives. A leader in advancing the next-gen materials revolution, MII connects science and big ideas, and the collaborative Next-Gen Innovation Hub will champion “clean fashion,” environmental responsibility and cruelty-free innovation.

“At MII, we applaud Texworld for recognizing and understanding the need to act now in showcasing the next generation of material and fiber innovators,” stated Nicole Rawling, co-founder + CEO of MII. “Sustainability must be at the forefront of every collection.”
