This cult makeup brand launched new colored mascara at Ulta and it's pretty amazing

If you’re a frequent shopper at Ulta or just makeup obsessed, then you know that Urban Decay‘s much-hyped Double Team Special Effect Colored Mascara officially drops today. We got our hands on this brand spanking new product before it hit Ulta stores, and it’ll probably be a while before we go back to wearing black mascara.

New Jersey-based artist Sarah Novio accepted our challenge to come up with a colorful smoky eye using the vibrant teal and blue mascaras, and she absolutely nailed it. Press play on the video above and follow along to copy this look.

Step-by-step instructions

1. Using the Urban Decay x Kristen Leanne Kaleidoscope Dream Eyeshadow Palette, apply LCW (metallic teal blue) across lid and lower lash line.

2. Layer TRM (metallic deep navy blue) from same palette into the crease and lower lash line. Pro Tip: Blend out into smoky shape with a clean brush.

3. Brush contour powder onto cheekbones, jawline, and temples. Try: KKW Beauty Powder Contour & Highlight Kit in Medium.

4. Dab a peachy blush onto apples of cheeks. We recommend: Combining Bora Bora and Maldives from the Huda Beauty 3D Highlighter Palette Bronze Sands Edition.

5. Sweep NARS Highlighting Powder in Albatross (available March 15 at NARS boutiques and narscosmetics.com) on for a luminous shine.

6. Apply teal mascara to the top lashes. Tool of choice: Urban Decay Double Team Special Effects Mascara in Deep End.

7. Layer metallic blue mascara on the lower lashes. Tool of choice: Urban Decay Double Team Special Effects Mascara in Gonzo. Pro Tip: Fill in waterline with black eyeliner to intensify.

8. Add a matte base to lips with Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in Backtalk (deep peachy-pink nude).

9. Finish with NARS Powermatte Lip Pigment in Le Freak (available March 18 at Ulta) at center of lips.
