Cubs lead social media lovefest for Loyola Chicago during Final Four matchup with Michigan

Almost everybody loves an underdog.

The sports world turned out on Saturday on social media and in stadiums before and during Saturday’s Final Four matchup between No. 3 seed Michigan and No. 11 seed Loyola Chicago to show support for the Ramblers.

The Chicago Cubs, formerly and arguably the most lovable underdog in American sports, showed some Windy City pride Saturday afternoon ahead of their game against the Miami Marlins.

Meanwhile from the world of NBA, Minnesota Timberwolves big man Karl-Anthony Towns, a high school teammate of Ramblers guard Marques Townes, enjoyed a first half that saw Loyola Chicago rally to take the lead.

Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma has also jumped on the Ramblers bandwagon.

Basketball legend and Final Four veteran Bill Walton was seen spending time with No. 1 Ramblers fan Sister Jean ahead of the game.

And Yahoo’s own Shams Charania, Loyola Chicago class of 2017, took his reporting skills to the sidelines with the Ramblers faithful at the Alamodome.

But of course, in any David vs. Goliath situation, there’s always somebody pulling for Goliath. And who more fitting than five-time Super Bowl champion and former Michigan quarterback Tom Brady?
