'CSI: Vegas' Fans, You're Not Prepared for This Season 2 News

When CSI: Vegas hit TV screens in 2021, fans were ecstatic to see some familiar faces. More than 20 years after the original CSI premiered, fan favorites William Petersen (Gil Grissom), Jorja Fox (Sara Sidle), Wallace Langham (David Hodges), and Paul Guilfoyle reprised their roles.

While the show has been renewed for a second season, Petersen and Fox have both confirmed that they will not be returning. After Petersen's announcement, Fox shared her news with her Twitter followers. She wrote, "Hey all you #CSI fans! After much deliberating, I have decided not to ‘Sidle up’ for CSI Vegas. For me CSI has always been a love story. The story that people can find love in the darkest of places and times. And the story that love, even in the darkest of places and times, can expand and grow roots and endure. I personally just can’t split Sara and Grissom up again. So goes Grissom…..So goes Sara. Wherever they go, they belong together. Thanks for watching everyone!!!!! Keep tuning in! I know I will. CSI VEGAS has an incredible team and it should be an amazing show!"

But don't fret, CSI fans. Another star is returning to the lab. That's right, Marg Helgenberger will be reprising her role as Catherine Willows for season 2. Helgenberger starred on the original series from 2000-2013. She hinted at the possibility of a return back in September, sending fans into a frenzy, but now it's official.

The official CSI: Vegas Instagram page announced the exciting news with a photo of Marg dressed in her CSI gear. The caption says, "I have something to tell you. Catherine Willows will be joining us for Season Two of #CSIVegas." Fans are so excited by this development. One wrote, "I just screamed!! Omg I’m so excited ❤️" and another said, "This makes me so happy!!!!" One commenter wrote, "AAAA YYYAASSSSSS THE QUEEN IS BACKKKK!!!❤❤❤❤"

Helgenberger is also returning as Supervising Judge Lisa Benner on season 3 of All Rise on OWN, according to Deadline. We're looking forward to seeing her on both of these shows soon!
