Princess Diana's style was legendary, but few of her looks were so iconic as her wedding dress. The world wanted a fairytale Princess, and Diana gave it to them, in her family's heirloom tiara, and an over-the-top gown.

An upcoming episode of The Crown recreates Charles and Diana's wedding day, at least in part, and an early teaser of season four shows actress Emma Corrin, who plays the young Lady Diana Spencer in the series, stepping into her bridal shoes.

The show sometimes takes liberties with historic costumes, but this time, Diana's dress was recreated almost exactly to fit Corrin.

Per a Twitter thread shared by Netflix UK & Ireland, the dress took four months, five fittings, and three people working a collective 600 hours to recreate.

"It's made of 95 metres of fabric and 100 metres of lace, with a train that is approximately 30 metres long," reads a social media post.

Costume designer Amy Roberts collaborated with David Emmanuel, who crafted the original dress with his then-wife Elizabeth Emmanuel, for the gown custom-made for Corrin.

"We were filming the scene when you first see her in the wedding dress—I think it was Lancaster House in London—and I had a team of about 10 people helping me put it on, because it's massive," Corrin told British Vogue of the experience

"I walked out and everyone went completely silent," she continued. "More than anything else I wear in the series, it’s so … It’s her."

Elizabeth Emmanuel was also pleased with how it turned out.

“They have done a great job in capturing the spirit of the wedding gown,” hse told People magazine.

“Emma Corrin looks wonderful in it. I’m a big fan of The Crown, it’s an amazing series and I’m looking forward to seeing it when it comes out.”

The full season four of The Crown drops on Netflix November 15. Watch a sneak peek featuring Corrin in Diana's wedding dress, above.
