Crivitz Area Woman’s Club hosts Girls’ Night Out for charity

PESHTIGO, Wis. (WFRV) – There was a remarkable display of women supporting women at the annual “Girls Night Out” fundraiser with the Critivitz Area Woman’s Club.

Hundreds of women packed the Embers 1871 Supper Club for food, drink, and the chance of winning a variety of prizes or walking away with the winning bid for their favorite gift basket.

President Natasha Lundberg has been attending the event for years, long before she became the leader of this long-running women’s group that supports charities throughout the region, including the Fire Department and food pantries.

“We donate right back to the community,” Lundberg explained. “Our local libraries. We sponsor a family for Christmas every year. Last year, we took in $32,000, and we hope to make at least that for our community.”

One of the key organizers is Kathy Nowak, a finalist for this year’s Remarkable Women program on Local 5. Anchor Michele McCormack, who profiled Nowak for our special presentation earlier this year, called Kathy up on the stage as the crowd of hundreds burst into applause to show appreciation.
