Shemar Moore has been through a roller coaster of emotions this past week and keeping his fans updated on Instagram through it all.

On May 5, viewers of S.W.A.T. received word that the CBS drama was canceled after six seasons. Deadline was one of the first to confirm the news about the series, which follows Shemar's character Daniel "Hondo" Harrelson as he leads a SWAT unit for the Los Angeles Police Department. The announcement was particularly surprising, as the outlet noted that the show thrives as one of Friday night's top programs on the network alongside the freshman hit series Fire Country.

Soon after the news broke, the Criminal Minds star shared his anger over the situation in a video on Instagram. "I got sunglasses on [because] I'm a little bit sad," Shemar began the clip uploaded on May 5. "We got canceled... It makes no sense. Look up the articles, read the articles. We are the best show on Friday night at 8 for CBS. The last two years we have been killing it ... We've done nothing wrong. We did everything that was asked for."

"If I post this, and I think I might, I will get in a lot of trouble with CBS because I’m calling them out [because] they’ve been wonderful to me for 26 out of my 29-year career," he continued. "But to abruptly get told that you're canceled when you led us to believe last week … that we would have some semblance of a season 7 to at least say goodbye, if not continue, and to abruptly be told you’re done … They said we’re canceled, but guess what I don’t think we’re done."

When fans saw The Young and the Restless alum open up about his heartbreak over S.W.A.T.'s future, they all rushed to his side for support. What's more, they commended him for being so honest.

"How do we get another network to pick it up???" one person asked in the comments on Instagram. "I am so sad too I can't understand why 😢 S.W.A.T. is the best series ever ... It’s unbelievable 😢💔 @shemarfmoore," a different user added. "S.W.A.T. is one of my favorite shows. I hope you get picked up by another network or streaming service," another follower agreed.

Then, just like that, CBS made a stunning reversal three days later. In a shocking announcement made on May 8, the network revealed S.W.A.T. is getting renewed for a final season. Season 7 will have 13 episodes and air sometime in the 2023-2024 TV season.

Amid the change of heart, Shemar quickly jumped on Instagram to share his elation. "Ayyeee!!!!! We did it #SWATFAM!!!" he wrote the same day. "@swatcbs is coming back for a 7th and Final season with 13 episodes!!! Thank you to all of you for the continued and amazing support!! Let’s go 👊🏽💯🔥💪🏽."

We're thrilled to see S.W.A.T. live another day!
