This summer will see the release of two new Outlander pieces of merchandise that when combined could produce a brand-new drinking game for the series adapted from the novels by New York Times bestselling author Diana Gabaldon.

Coming out on August 6 will be the book Outlander Cocktails: The Official Drinks Guide inspired by the series from authors Jim Shy Freeman and Rebeccah Marsters, with a seal of approval from Gabaldon as she has written a forward to the book.

We all know how much Jamie—and Sam Heughan—love their whisky. But Outlander Cocktails goes one step further as it shares 90 recipes for cocktails, nonalcoholic offerings and plenty of bar bites.

Whether or not you use Heughan’s Sassenach Blended Scotch Whisky, Sassenach Wild Scottish Gin, or El Tequileño Sassenach Select, Outlander Cocktails provides recipes for drinks and the appropriate foods to accompany them to celebrate any occasion, but the book also has a serious side, presenting the historical perspective on the drinking culture in the 18th and 20th centuries.

And for those who enjoy drinking games, the very same day—August 6, 2024 —that the cocktail book is being released, Outlander Trivia: A Card Game will also hit the shelves, which will be a great way to test your knowledge on Gabaldon’s series of nine books that follow the tales of the Fraser clan with a 200-card trivia game.

Plus, Outlander Trivia: A Card Game includes a booklet with instructions for organizing a casual trivia night, a pub-style trivia game, and a variation for those ready to play at the expert level.

So break out the booze and have a ball Outlander style.
