The look features a zipper down the model’s face, which opens from her jawline to her eyebrows. The inside of the zipper features sparkling crystals, and the look is completed with a fierce eyeshadow with the same shimmer.
Edwards tells Yahoo Lifestyle that she first developed the zipper look a few years back in an international makeup competition.
“This year I decided to re-create it but make it more glamorous and meaningful,” she shares. “As makeup artists and makeup educators, we can dress up so pretty on the outside, but what outshines everything and truly matters is the hidden beauty inside — that’s the deeper message my zipper look illustrates.”
Her gorgeous creation is resonating with many. One commenter wrote: “You changed my perspective on makeup. You are truly in a class of your own. You have an impeccable talent.” Another commenter added, “I am literally blown away by this look. How did u do the zipper?”
She feels overwhelmed by the responses and is thankful her look has received so much praise. “I am truly honored,” Edwards says. “I was hoping it would go viral, and God is great because it did.”
Edwards isn’t the only one to create a “zipper face.” Makeup artist Gabriella Avillar has done her own golden rendition of the look.
Other artists and amateurs alike are taking on the challenge of this complex creation.
Some makeup artists have even given the “zipper face” look a spooky twist.
