This Crazy George Clooney ‘Briefcase-Surprise' Story Will Make You Wish You Were His BFF
We consider ourselves generous when we buy our friends a round of drinks at happy hour. For George Clooney, showing his pals love is a bit more expensive.
As in, he once gifted his closest buddies briefcases filled with $1 million. (Seriously.)
Per Clooney confidante Rande Gerber, back in 2013, the Cloonster gathered a group of 14 guys (who call themselves “The Boys”) at his house. There, he presented each with a briefcase.
Gerber continued, “George begins to say, ‘Listen, I want you guys to know how much you’ve meant to me and how much you mean to me in my life. I came to L.A., I slept on your couch. I’m so fortunate in my life to have all of you and I couldn’t be where I am today without all of you. So, it was really important to me that while we’re still all here together, that I give back. So I want you all to open your suitcases.’”
And when they did, they found a cool $1 million, paid out in $20 bills, which seems rather inconvenient, but who are we to judge?
Sometimes it pays (literally) to have friends in high places.
