RV renovations continuously prove that you don’t need much space to create a glamorous pad. The latest jaw-dropping transformation you'll want to turn to for inspiration is by Jenna Dunlop—founder and principal designer of JennaRae Interiors. Dunlop's RV reno has been recognized as The Most Dramatic Renovation in the 7th annual Wayfair Professional Tastemaker Awards.
When Dunlop bought the RV, she didn’t intend to overhaul the whole interior. It had an outdated brown color palette, so she painted the walls white. “From there it snowballed, and I ended up doing a complete gutting of the whole thing,” the designer explains. “It was a lot of work—more work than anticipated—but the outcome was worth it."
“Jenna’s reno is basically an extreme take on small-space design,” says Hadley Keller, one of the judges for the awards and House Beautiful’s digital director. “Many of us can relate to a small footprint, and takeaways like bunk beds and space-saving sconces can apply anywhere!”
As a designer who loves bright whites and a fresh feel, it was easy for Dunlop to incorporate neutral tones with pops of black. She added wood and wicker accents for warmth. But being cost-conscious throughout the process was crucial. “The flooring I got ended up having a pattern on it, which I did not want at first," she explains. "But I decided I would make it work, so I pulled a lot of tones from that."
Once a dark, drab trailer, the RV now exists as an airy, elevated escape—perfect for family vacations to visit Dunlop’s parents on Nova Scotia’s Cape Breton.
