CoverGirl Is Launching a Whopping 48 New Lipstick Shades for Its Exhibitionist Collection

You know what you can never have too many of? Lip colors. And that's why you may want to consider budgeting about $380, give or take, so you can get all 48 of CoverGirl's new shades of its Exhibitionist Lipstick. You have to admit, that's a steal for a full lipstick wardrobe that covers every color you could possibly want to wear, from pinks and reds to purples and blues. The wide range of shades is CoverGirl's way of encouraging women to use lipstick as a self-expression tool. "If a bright purple lipstick makes you feel powerful in your work meeting," CoverGirl says in a press statement, "you should own it, without apology."

CoverGirl's largest lip-color launch since rebranding at the beginning of 2018, Exhibitionist Lipstick comes in three finishes: demi-matte, metallic, and cream. All three kinds are vanilla-scented and enriched with shea butter, promising a smooth application and moisturizing feel as they deposit major pigment. There are nine demi-matte shades: Ying-Yang (off-white), Streaker (dusty mauve), Trending (a cool-toned brownish-pink), Just Sayin (hot pink), Worthy (soft red), Infamous (a grayish-lavender), Bestie Boo (gray with light-blue undertones), Feelings (straight-up purple), and Peacock (a deep teal).

The metallic finish comes in a dozen shades: Razzle Dazzle (shimmery cream), Flushed (pale silver), Call Me (frosty pale pink), Can’t Stop (shimmery mauve), Ready or Not (brick rose), Getaway (a deep bronzed mauve), Rendezvous (a purple-toned deep brown), Stop the Press (pale lavender), Steal (rich cornflower), Deeper (dusty turquoise), and Don’t Tell (shimmering black), and Love Me Later (a cool-toned medium pink).

The vast majority of the shades come in the cream finish, most of which have names that more clearly imply their colors: Dulce de Leche, Crème, Champagne, Caramel Kiss, Honeyed Bloom, Sultry Sienna, Tempting Toffee, Romance Mauve, Coffee Crave, Decadent Peach, Succulent Cherry, HOT, Seduce Scarlet, Euphoria, Spellbound, Tantalize, Delicious, Enchantress, Verve Violet, Coquette Orchid, Yummy Pink, Sweetheart Blush. Darling Kiss, Temptress Rose, Delight Blush, and Bombshell Pink.

If any of those names sound familiar, it's because many used to be known as CoverGirl's Colorlicious Lipstick — great news for those who loved that line and worried that the rebranding might mean the end of their go-to color.

Just in case the 48 lipstick shades don't fully satisfy your current lip-color cravings, you'll be pleased to know the new Exhibitionist line also includes eight retractable lip liner shades: In the Nude, Caramel Nude, Paradise Pink, Rosewood, Cherry Red, Garnet Red, Marvelous, and Plum Partner. Both the lipsticks and lip liners go for about $8 and have started popping up at drugstores, mass-market retailers, and websites including Ulta.
