The two started dating in 2013.

Courteney Cox is celebrating an anniversary with Johnny McDaid.

McDaid—who is an accomplished songwriter, singer, and musician, and a member of the band Snow Patrol—and Cox have been together since 2013.

Over the years, and especially during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, the two have been dating long-distance.

Now, while honoring the couple's ninth anniversary, the Friends actress poked fun at the term "long distance" in a hilarious new Instagram video.

In the video, Cox seems to speak to someone off-camera, saying, "J, what a wonderful nine-year anniversary we've had. It's been the most special time, and I love the flowers, it's so sweet. They're gorgeous. And just to be this connected, and this intimate, it's been...It's been everything."

The clip then cuts to reveal that Cox is looking at a television screen showing McDaid performing live in concert with the band.

As the screen shows a close-up of her partner, Cox turns to the camera and eagerly states, "He looked at me," with the smile of an enthusiastic fan.

Many people loved the video and found it hilarious, including Paul Wilson of Snow Patrol, who commented the laughing face emoji.

Shortly after the pair started dating, McDaid and Cox got engaged in early 2014.

They didn't end up getting married, splitting up later in the year, but by March 2015, they were back together, and they've been going strong ever since.

After they got back together, Cox confirmed the news, telling Us Weekly, "Well, we love each other, and we are — yes, we’re happy!"

McDaid commented, "I don’t know if you can put a label on what makes us work so well. But I know that I’ve never loved like I love this woman. So if that’s enough, then that’s enough."

When asked earlier this year if the two might eventually get married, Cox told PEOPLE, "I'm definitely not opposed to it. I just don't think about it."

Clearly, whatever Cox and McDaid are doing is working, and we look forward to them celebrating their 10th anniversary in 2023.
