Of Course Kaia Gerber Made Her Couture Debut at Chanel

Every model remembers her first season of couture. Ready-to-wear is nice, but fashion’s finest prove themselves when they have their moment to shine in the most innovative and elaborate designer creations. This morning at Chanel’s garden party–themed couture show, Kaia Gerber continued her winning streak by walking Karl Lagerfeld’s latest extravaganza in a fairy-tale look. She has served as girl number one during both the Pre-Fall and Spring 2018 collections but is clearly hitting her stride with her third appearance for the brand, graduating from rookie to regular.

The 16-year-old embodied the youthful joie de vivre of Lagerfeld muses of years past and channeled Audrey Tautou and Trish Goff, standing out amid a cast filled with stars including stunning show opener Luna Bijl, Vogue cover star Vittoria Ceretti, and house fixture Amanda Sanchez. With mom Cindy Crawford and brother Presley Gerber joining her on the road during her week in Paris, Kaia’s couture adventure isn’t just a career high—she made it a family affair.
