If you're still looking for the perfect wedding venue for your 2024 nuptials, we have just the locale for you. Exchange your vows underneath April's total solar eclipse, which will pass through several states in the U.S. before entering Canada.

On April 8, Destination Seneca County in Ohio is hosting an event called Elope at the Eclipse for couples who want to get married during the eclipse. The ceremony will take place at the Frost Kalnow Amphitheater and will include everything you need for your dream elopement, including an officiant, live music, cake, and a photographer.

The event is free with the exception of a $70 license marriage fee. Couples looking to elope must bring a valid marriage license to the event. If you're looking to renew your vows, no documentation is required. Guests are free and encouraged to attend.

According to the website, at least one applicant must live in Ohio. You must set up an appointment prior to the event with the Seneca County Probate Court by calling 419-447-3121 on Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The courts will be closed on April 8, so make sure to plan accordingly to receive your marriage license prior to the eclipse.

The first location in continental North America that will experience the eclipse is Mexico at around 11:07 am PDT. The path of the eclipse then travels through Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine.

Viewers along the path of totality, which includes Ohio, will be able to clearly see the sun’s outer atmosphere—the perfect one-of-a-kind backdrop for your special day.
